Julia Farestvedt

 

         
 

The energetic, enthusiastic founder of La Phyzz Theatre Academy is Julia Farestvedt who studied at The Royal Academy of Dance, The Premier Stage School and  Pineapple Dance Studios.

She set up her first Jazz Stretch class in Luton in the early eighties and within two years she had introduced ‘The Aerobic Workout’  to Luton. During this time she was also the director of fitness at Henlow Grange.

Recognising the industry requirements for qualified aerobic teachers,she added the YMCA/RSA to her qualifications and went on to become an RSA 'Exercise to Music' examiner. She also holds the UKAO qualification for judging aerobic competition.

Julia choreographed and performed in her own professional dance group, dancing in top London night clubs, all over the UK and toured in Europe many times.











In the late eighties, she and her dance partner formed a singing and dance duo called 'Wanted' and signed to an independent record label, wrote and produced their own material.

In 1993, Julia choreographed and performed in the step aerobic team 'Stepinsects' who were finalists in the UK National Step Aerobic Championships at Wembley, She set up 'The Luton Strikers' Cheerleaders for Luton Town FC and choreographed for Chiltern Radio's dance group 'Chiltern Kiss' and more recently, the reformed Chiltern FM Dancers.

As well as directing and choreographing LPTA, Julia still teaches adult dance and fitness at La Phyzz in Luton, often playing her own music compilations.
